Web 2.0 and Visualization Tools to Engage Students in Science BYOD Workshop

The whole presentation was based off of this website: https://sites.google.com/site/iquestpresentation/. Take a few minutes to check out the wonderful resources and tools on the site.

Most of the sites listed are free or have some free features. Many of the sites we use in the School District of Superior already and that I’m familiar with, at least in a “yeah, I’ve heard of that” way. Some are new to me. What I really like about this resource page, is that not only are the various resources listed, but they also give a short summary of the resource, mention how it can be used, and provides examples.

Many of the sites really promote student creativity and tap into the artistic skills of students. In addition to this creative aspect, most of the sites also provide new and exciting ways to deliver content.

Without a doubt, I will bringing these tools back to the high school and sharing with my fellow teachers who will be battling on the front lines of the 1:1 laptop rollout.
